Hi Payton, for our Graduate roles we do not require any certain degree! A lot of our Tax professionals come from a non-finance degree backgrounds. As long you have an Honours degree in any subject you are eligible for the Graduate programmes.

It is worth flagging that tax is a very broad topic. I work in International tax where we work we law to advise clients on which taxes they should or shouldn't be paying. This includes writing memos and slide decks depending on the relevant requirements.

How closely do you work with other departments I would also have an interest in the Strategy and Transactions Graduate Programmes, so would there be an option to lateral into their work as well if the opportunity arises and I feel I may be better suited?

The tax departments generally cross over. I have worked on transaction work from a few different perspectives including structuring and the due diligence team. I work very closely and sometimes for people in the transactions team due to the cross over.
