Hi Joshua, EY understand the value of learning on the job and so you can expect to be given a lot of responsibility early on. The ability to learn within the safety of a supportive and inclusive project team is invaluable. It has certainly given me the confidence to try things and develop my CV in a way that some of my peers in industry have not been able to.
EY are also very people oriented, this means that you will very quickly build a large network both internally and externally as you work with different project teams and clients. I've personally worked with teams in Bermuda, Canada and Belgium and now if someone asks me about Canadian regulation (for example) I have a team of contacts to reach out to. This makes me more valuable to my project teams as I progress.
Finally, you will have access to a huge range of clients and projects and you really can drive your own career to sample as many opportunities as you want. Working with clients will give you insight into the workings of many different industries and an understanding of the end-to-end workings of clients in that industry. This will give you an edge over your non-EY peers if you choose to move away from consulting later in your career.
