Is here someone who is working Private Client Tax line of service?

Hi Ali, I work in the Private Client Services team in the Bristol office. Broadly, the Private Client Services team is intended to support high net worth individuals and business owners with their tax needs - this can involve advising them on their tax affairs, completing their tax returns and helping them plan for their future. In this I have had exposure to both personal tax and some corporate tax (in the form of private businesses), but have not come across VAT.

How would you compare the diff between working for private clients to corporates? In terms of career progression, learning etc? Also can I please connect with you at LinkedIn? I know a lot people who work for corporates but none within private clients line of service. Thanks

Hi Ali, within the team I work in (Private Capital) there is a split between corporate workstreams and private client workstreams. Typically the only difference in terms of career progression is based on the amount of work that is available at the time. In most cases, its highly unlikely, particularly as a new joiner, that you will be working on either just private clients or just the corporates. You will be expected to split your workload between the two sides of the team. In terms of learning, the process will be essentially the same.
So in the instance where there is not a lot of private client work, you would be expected to pick up more corporate work so as to keep your development up
