Hey, the short answer there is no typical day! It does depend on what team you are in. For me, I work in Tax and in my first year I was in a research and development role, looking at what emerging tehnologies are available and how to implement them to the world of tax at EY. It would involve alot of working with others, problem solving and ideating.

In the first year in Assurance, you work as a part of the Data Analytics team and will be working on cleansing and processing data to help with Audits. What you do in Assurance changes every year and in your 3rd and 4th years, you get a choose what team you want to work in.

Thank you James and Malik. How big are the teams typically that you have worked with? Are you the only apprentice in the team?

In tax, there are 3 digital and technology apprentices in my cohort and my team is roughly about 110 people (spread across the UK, Poland, India, South Africa, Spain and Canada!!) but we are broken down into smaller sub teams! Day to day, I work in a team of about 15.

Wow I wasn't expecting it to be so big, that is good to hear and it's nice that you aren't the only apprentice. Thank you

I currently work in a relatively small team of around 25 but we are a part of a larger national team of close to 200. In my team there are 5 apprentices and in the overall team there are close to 60
If you are interested in joining the Assurance Digital and Technology program, we are looking for around 20 Apprentices this year so you will not be alone in that sense.
