Most people are returning to offices now and there is even work starting on client site! This makes coaching a lot more effective as you can quickly catch people in person with questions.

However, coaching over teams is still very effective, for the beginning of my apprenticeship I mostly experienced this and I was still able to learn so much over MS Teams.
As long as you reach out for the help/coaching you will get it regardless of location.

I'm a first year apprentice and I've had the flexibility of both. I joined in September and I started going into the office in October for 2 days a week. It's mainly dependent on your team but you will have the experience of both during the week.

I can imagine face-to-face is useful as a trainee, thank you both!

It is definitely useful, especially in the early stages as it just feels a lot more comfortable as you are meeting people for the first time but it is not imperative!

It is quite useful especially as you can sit with your team so any questions you have can be explained face-to-face also. You can also have lunch and after work socials with your team which means you can build connections outside of your work commitments.
