Georgia, what do you enjoy about your role as a Business Apprentice? What does it entail?

I think the best part about my role is the opportunity to learn and work at the same time, with lots of support. What I never thought before I joined was how there are so many apprentices and grads that have come before me that also know my position, they are always happen to help and love doing so.

When you first join there will be a few weeks of study where you learn some basic bookeeping and have a general EY induction. Then you get straight in to client work, it sounds a bit crazy but I went straight in to a month long audit and was taught how to do each task I needed to do.

Everyone understands that you are a first year so they will always make sure you have appropriate coaching.The best thing is that you are always doing audits as a team so you never have to worry about problem solving alone.

No worries! Aside from work EY has different committees, clubs and networks that all hold events that you can be part of and lead - these cover loads of different interests making it even easier to meet people. One of my biggest concerns about an apprenticeship was missing out on the social side of university but I havent had to give that up.
