From studying at Cardiff University to joining the EY Tax GCR team
I studied Accounting and Finance and Cardiff University and graduated in 2023 with a first class degree. I had to balance the application process into EY with with my final year studies and was fortunate enough to be offered a position within a Tax team at EY with a focus on Financial Service clients.
I'm an Assistant Tax Advisor at EY, focusing on Financial Services
I sit within the Financial Services (FS) Tax Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) team which is a sub-service line within the Tax department. GCR involves ensuring that our clients are compliant with relevant tax law and legislation. This can involve working on tax audits as an independent party or working with clients on their tax computations. The FS team is a smaller team within EY that has a specific focus on clients within the Financial Services industry.

Raising over £1000 for charity
Several members within the FSO GCR team took part in Movember with the aim to raise over £1000 for charity. This involved, of course, growing a moustache as well as aiming to do some form of activity to reach 60km each over the month. By the end of November, our team raised over £1,000 and we received matched funding from EY!
