What sector does EY focus on in Scotland?

Hi Eve! I am based in our Glasgow office and look after the Scottish offices for Student Recruitment. Basically Scotland has a really good mix of clients in terms of variety of industries and size of clients (from large listed companies to smaller family owned businesses). The only office which has a real focus on an industry is our Aberdeen office which predominantly focuses on Oil & Gas clients and is a centre of excellence for that industry.

But for Glasgow and Edinburgh we cover a variety of industries from energy, transport, manufacturing, consumer products, etc, just to name a few!

It really depends on the service line you join what clients you can get involved in. If you have a particular industry you want to be involved in then you can tell your manager when you join to see if there's any clients you would be able to work on to build that experience. However as I say, there's a real mix of clients in all of our offices in Scotland.

Hi Eve, sorry I don't know specifically on this however I know our service lines are at the forefront of a lot of technology in the sector

Could I ask what are the common technologies does Assurance service use?

There are a lot of new digital solutions being used by Assurance in recent years to make the job more interesting for our staff by taking away manual tasks and giving our team more time to speak and ask questions of our clients!
