What percent of your apprenticeship has been coding focused, and how technical was it?

I want to become a software engineer and I am soon to become an apprentice in the same degree as yours. I was wondering how coding heavy it is. I understand its a mix but I’d like to know if you are able to code real applications and build many features or is it typically just light concepts?

There is definitely lots of scope to code real applications, if that is what you are interested in. In the first year, I would say coding is quite light, as it's more focused on getting used to EY, our business areas and the fundamentals of what our teams offers.
In the subsequent years you can choose to stay, or explore to join other teams. Personally, I do little coding in my role, however I have done some development in PowerShell for a project. On the other hand, some apprentices in my intake have joined teams focused on automation and developing applications, where coding is used on a daily basis.
