Recruitment will be better placed to tell you how many people normally apply, but in terms of how you can stand out I would just encourage you to be yourself. EY is very much a people Firm and they want to get to know you as a person.

Hi,
I would echo Ellie, being yourself is key. Be sure to highlight your interest and if you have goals you want to be working towards.

In terms of numbers I believe we hired c.200 apprentices last year, although I'm not sure on the success rate. In terms of standing out - I'd all say it comes down to your final interview! Research heavily the team you're joining and have a good background knowledge of EY, and demonstrate that knowledge to your interviewer.

My top tip for the interviews is to be well prepared. Research EY and the culture and the role you're applying for. Also, don't be afraid to let your personality shine through. Being yourself can help connect with the interviewer and leave a lasting impression.

I would agree with the above about being yourself, and preparing as best as you can- showing your enthusiasm!

Hello Malachy, the programmes are usually competitive. The best way to stand out is to be authentic and engaged during the process. It’s not designed to catch you out, but more to get to know you. Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions and showcase any quirky hobbies! I would research EY, the service line you’re thinking of joining and have a good answer for why you want to join that service line specifically as well as any skills/strengths that link to it.
