What are the best ways to stand out in my application?

Hi! That's great to hear! If you're interested in consulting I would make sure to get an application in quite quickly when we open as the roles are popular. Preparation is definitely key, so I would suggest doing some research on the role and EY to demonstrate some commercial awareness. Hiya, I have been at EY as a consultant for three years and a few of the key attributes I think all consultants should possess are:- being adaptable, being confident and being eager to take on new experiences. As a consultant you will have opportunities to work across a variety of engagements and clients and its important to show you can be flexible and agile with each :)

Sabrin, a further question if I may: when you joined EY permanently, did you have prior experience in consulting or with EY? I would be very interested to hear about your experiences and line of work as a Consultant too!

Hey, I joined EY straight after university on the graduate programme and did not have prior experience. I also come from a biochemistry background but am now working in the technology space. EY encourage joiners from across a variety of backgrounds and consulting experience is not essential :) Whilst I've been at EY I have been on technology engagements across both the private/ public sector and have had opportunities to travel abroad. The work itself has also been varied, spanning different areas of tech :)

Wow, that is exactly the nature of work I would dream of doing. Consulting in a technology space is exactly what I am after! So very coincidentally, I think you might be able to help me with my million dollar question. Did you join on the Management Consulting programme, and work in the technology sector, or did you join the Technology Consulting programme, and that is how you are there? This is what I'm really trying to unpick :)

I joined the management consulting programme and was aligned to technology as this was what was offered in Birmingham. If you wish to be a technology consultant, I would recommend applying straight for the technology consulting programme although I do think this is limited to London :)
