Hi Josh - thank you! The first thing I would do is to review the tips outlined here: https://www.ey.com/en_uk/careers/students/application-process if you click on the Programme to which you have applied. You will see that stage 4 is the EY Experience Day. I would had a read through that to ensure that you know what to expect on the day!

As the roles begin in September 2021, if I were to be successful in my application would EY provide work or content to get up to speed with to hit the ground running in September? Or would there be any online courses you could suggest to get a solid foundational knowledge of Assurance?

Hi Josh, I have started as a graduate this September and I haven't done anything prior my induction day. Personally, I would say that has not slowed me down and it has been a great transition so far. I was given some online courses after the induction.

Did you find it easy to settle in at EY when you started? What is the working culture like?

Definitely, everyone has been very welcoming and ready to answer any questions / concerns. New joiners also get counselors who are there to discuss anything we like from the carreer path and trainings to any worries.

Is there flexibility to move between offices in the programme? Alternatively, can you change your mind about the office location you have applied to?

Hi Josh - you can only apply for one location, programme, and service line. Therefore you should think carefully about where you want to apply and where you want to be offered! However we may be able to swap your application to another location, if there are still vacancies, depending on what stage you are currently at.

Hi Kate, I have applied to the Cambridge office but it was a close decision between there and the London office. I have passed the Job simulation assessment and now am waiting to see if I have been invited to an experience day. Would swapping locations affect my application? i.e. is there a set number of places available at each office location?

Yes there are a set number of roles available in each location. We do have an extremely high volume of applications for the London office, so it is quite competitive for London!

Assurance Apprentice - Cambridge

Hi Josh, just to add to that - I was stuck between the Cambridge and the London office when I was applying and stuck with Cambridge and definitely haven't looked back on it since; if you want a more close-knit office, Cambridge definitely fits that description! :) But obviously whatever suits your location more is also a factor.

Yes that was my thinking! :D I have read a lot of graduates comments saying they felt like the smaller regional offices offered a family-like environment so this sounds like something I would like to be a part of!
