Hey! I would say it definitely won't hurt, but there's no specific essential knowledge you're expected to have. During the activities you'll be talking about technology and ways it might be applied to scenarios, but you'll be given the background information you need to have the discussion.

But take a look at the website for emerging tech and always good to get a good grounding on a couple as you never know what they ask

Are we at a disadvantage if we don't come from a technology academic background like a comp sci degree?

No not at all, I studied Business Management and had no tech background and now work in Tech Risk, its more about showing a willingness to learn and having the right mindset - all training is provided

Not at all - I'm in Technology Risk and came from a Law degree. Like Kayleigh said, being willing to learn and take in new information is much more important.

Hi! I noticed you both said you are on the Tech Risk graduate programme and I’d love to get some insight into what motivated you to apply for that role? I am also interested in that stream and would love to know what the day to day is like for you both

Ofcourse, I liked the balance between consulting directly with clients and also having the more specialised technical aspect so I felt that I could use my strengths but also had alot to learn in both sides so I knew I could keep on developing in the role

We also study towards the more specific ICAEW qualifications and I felt that would transferable throughout the rest of my career while still being able to benefit from working with the Assurance team so starting to understand more of the business
