Hi Catherine, yes I have an example of this today from within Assurance. One of our clients has an overseas office in Germany. They are sending an EY team with someone in the team who also speaks German because all the workpapers from the client are in German they will require this person to translate! So there are definitely opportunities here.

There is also the possibility to move offices, as Jamil has said. So far I have seen German and Dutch are the most useful and important languages.. However, it is very client-specific. I would say, however, that usually if the client speaks another language, it is picked up by the local team in that country, rather than English-speakers. We just need translators where we deal with a client predominately e.g. in the UK and they have smaller overseas subsidies.
