Joining the Luton office in 2021, I felt immediately welcomed, it is a very friendly, social and diverse office where everyone is always happy to have a chat.
Generally across Assurance, we work 3 days a week in the office/on the client site, this can vary depending on the requirements of the client and how busy we are. Other than meeting rooms, and breakout areas, the office is comprised of hot desks meaning you can book any desk and sit next to anyone meaning very quickly you'll meet a number of different people within the office.
We often have quite a lot of other activities available outside of work through a variety of networks, most weeks we book badminton courts at the local sports facilities, and a football 5-a-side pitch for a kickabout.
We also have monthly 'socials' which can come in different forms from indoor skiing to go-karting to cocktail making, as well as a more formal Christmas party.
The working atmosphere generally is quite relaxed, There are roughly 200 people based at the Luton office so you will quickly get to know a lot of your colleagues on a personal and professional level.
My main piece of advice for a newcomer would simply be to try and get involved in as much as you can by getting to know as many people as possible.
The thing that makes me excited to go to work every day is that I am going to work with my friends rather than just colleagues and so the sooner you make the friendships and relationships the more you'll enjoy work!
