This is a good question and I can only speak from a UK&I perspective in terms of my own experiences but I imagine the below will also apply to FS. There are a lot of variables that determine the amount of travel you will undertake. The key one is your client portfolio. EY always considers your personal preferences whether you wish to travel or not albeit this doesn’t always work out. During my time at EY I have been lucky enough to travel a lot, I have had opportunities to travel to the US, Australia, Portugal, Holland and all over the UK. Equally I have colleagues in FS who have also travelled abroad with work. So whilst a bit of luck is required you will always have the opportunity to travel abroad in both UK&I and FS. Once you qualify you also have the opportunity to transfer on secondments or permanently to offices across the globe, so if working abroad is something that appeals to you, working at a global firm like EY is something you should pursue.
