If you apply for your internship/graduate programme and later you want to change, is that possible?

Hi Ling, when you apply to a service line you are in a training contract and you study different professional qualifications and do different training based on the area of business. This means that it's very difficult to then switch to another programme so we advise that if you join on a training contract that you stay within that while you are training. A lot of people do move internally to different offices/service lines when they've qualified and have gained the initial experience.

That's great and very helpful. I'm thinking I'd like to do both so if it were possible then I wouldn't mind doing one after the other after completing all training. But I think I'm leaning towards transaction more.

I'm in second year at the moment so do I apply for the internships this September/October time to do the internship and do you help with accommodation for the internships as EY only do transaction in Edinburgh and Birmingham?

I am in the Tax service line and there is a sub service line within my tax department called Business Tax Advisory. Within this you perform due diligence reports for companies who are buying and selling other companies and the tax implications on this. This is a bit of a mix between Tax and Transactions!

Hi Ling, on the point around accommodation, unfortunately we do not give any assistance with this and advise people to apply to offices where they would have somewhere to stay for the duration of the internship.

Hi Ling, this depends on the office location and whether they have a car park available. This is something you could ask about if you were successful on one of the programmes.
