Hi Rafaela! Hope you're well. I really enjoyed my time as an intern with EY - After the induction you're assigned onto an engagement team as part of the audit for a client - This can seem daunting, but the people I worked with were incredibly generous with their time, and more than happy to coach me to complete any tasks you're assigned (Which will be used for the final documentation in the audit). After my time as an intern I was desperate to rejoin and work with the great people you'll come across in the office, which is a great strength of EY!
I was in assurance of course, and spent my time on 2 different engagements to give me a broader view of the type of work you'll do in audit. This was also a great opportunity to meet/ interact with different clients, which is one of the most interesting parts of the job as the client portfolio can vary widely

For (hopefully) future interns, what would you recommend us to keep in mind or prepare?

There's not necessarily anything you can prep before your first day - the work can vary depending on office location, clients etc. I perhaps that I hadn't prepared enough, or was missing something going into my internship, but in all honesty the way to get the most out of an internship is to learn when you're here from the people you'll be working with. They won't expect you to be an expert of course, but definitely want you to enjoy your time here and become a valued member of the team. And don't be afraid to interact with senior colleagues (Managers, Partners etc.) - They're a great source of knowledge and are genuinely interested in speaking to you - Great way to build your network, and when I returned I felt like I knew the senior staff really well which helps settling in and starting the job

I hope your application goes well, and hopefully we'll see you here this summer!
