What sort of support does EY offer while you are preparing for completing your professional qualification?

Hi Simona - great question! During the duration of the graduate scheme, there is allocated "study leave", and so portions of the year are set out for attending college and writing your exams. During this time, you will not be expected to continue with anything work related, and this time is solely for you to do the best that you can in your professional qualification!

Hi - I'd like to add to this! I'm currently completing my professional qualification and I have found that everyone in the workplace is understanding and helpful! When you join the firm you are allocated a counsellor, and if you ever need support with the qualification you can always reach out to them!

I'd be working towards becoming a chartered accountant, would you know roughly how many days are typically allocated for studying and preparing for exams? Also would you know if we had a choice in the amount of time we took to prepare between the exams?

Hi Simona, as far as I am aware the study blocks depend on your qualification! For instance, I am currently working towards my chartered accountant exams through ICAS. I just finished my first year and this started in September and I sat my exams in November.

The exam dates were allocated to me, I wasn't allowed to choose when these were. But I personally find that EY are great at giving plenty of study time :)
