Hi Hannah, What a nice initiative this platform! I am struggling with a decision and I thought it was best to ask the people at the companies I want to work for for advice. I hope you are able to help me. Currently I am finishing my master thesis at the Ålesund hospital. With three weeks left in Norway, I have decided that I want to stay here for various reasons. The hospital has offered me a job to execute my master thesis, but I am not sure if I should take it or not. It is not a job at master level and not what I prefer to do, but it is an entrance into Norway. What I really wanted to do, is starting at EY and gain experience in multiple industries. Back in Netherlands I have heard a lot of good things about EY and I think it is the same for EY in Oslo. I am wondering therefore if it would be possible for me to send an application to EY in Oslo. From here follows my question. I almost have a masters in Industrial Engineering and Management. I am learning Norwegian and am planning on further developing that skill. Furthermore, I have worked at a lean consultancy company, did process engineering at an international company distributing electrical engines and am proficient in both Python and VBA coding, as well as having good presentation skills. I was wondering what my chances are if I apply at EY in Norway, or whether it is better to work at the hospital for a year and use that year as preparation. If so, what skills can I best learn that year to maximize my probability to be hired by EY. I am mainly interested in the following branches of EY: Consulting, Industry and Energy or Finance. Thank you for your time and consideration, I look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, David Evers
