There generally tend to be a few numeracy, literacy, and a few business scenario-based questions. I know when I was applying, I found it really helpful to do as many of them (by applying around) as I could to build up an idea of the types of questions.

We also run application support bootcamps which you can find our more and sign up to attend here - https://www.ey.com/en_uk/careers/students/events-and-contacts. The bootcamps will explain what to expect at each stage, allow you to practice mock questions, and allow you to ask any questions you may have before sitting the assessment as part of your application!

For me, in data analytics, it was numerical reasoning tests and verbal reasoning style tests. They were timed and included things such as working out percentage changes and digesting written information and answering questions about what you have read. I recommend doing some practice tests online, there are lots of free resources. A couple of practice tests for me improved my scores a lot.

For the numerical reasoning assessment, are the questions randomly chosen out of a question bank?

Yes the questions are randomly selcted from a questions bank. They can cover numerical questions such as percentage increases/decreases, ratios, currencies, numerical analysis, etc. We have an online practice platform called the VEE Platform - this will help you best prepare for all steps of the application process including numerical questions! I advise you practice aptitude tests online. Just some advice is that the numerical exam isn't usually complicated maths, but has comprehension in it as well as some time pressure.
