It's not necessary to have a specific maths qualification, as everything you need to know will be covered in college and can be picked up during on the job training. The maths for college and work mainly involves simple calculations and number manipulation. In your exams you have access to a calculator and at work spreadsheets are used to aid working with numbers. I would say it's important that you are comfortable with interpreting numbers and are happy with fairly simple number manipulation, but it definitely isn't necessary to have a high level of mathematics education.
