How long is the Christmas break and is there any other break that we get in a year at EY?

The UK has 8 Bank holidays a year, as well as your 25 days of annual leave from EY. You can buy more holiday through your benefits package and you can use these days whenever you want throughout the year. The firm is closed over Christmas, between Christmas Day and 1 January (using 3 of your days of annual leave).

You have to take those three days as annual leave, or take them unpaid, so they have to come from your 25 days allowance

If we take them unpaid, can they not count as part of our 25 days?

Does the holiday year start from each financial year, calendar year or employment start date?
(E.g. April, January, September)

Does it mean if I wanted to take a holiday in January, for Assurance, it is possible? or Would I have to wait for a set amount of time after starting?

Hi Jason, most of assurance has busy season in Jan - April depending on your exact team and service line. I think holidays are restricted during this time, but definitely something to discuss with your team during the indicution

Hi Kat, thanks, I had that idea in mind too. The financial year ends before April so there is likely a lot of clients and project to work on as well. I will definitely ask.
