Can I apply for an apprenticeship position if I have a degree?
Additional information
I have a Mechanical Engineering degree, however, I am very keen on a career change into assurance. I'm sure there are a lot of people who only realise what they really want to do once they finish their degree (or just generally later in life). As far as I am aware, sometimes applicants can be considered "overqualified" for a position, would having a degree be considered that for an apprenticeship position? Thank you

Hi Mehdi - thanks for checking! If you have a degree already you may be better suited to join the Graduate Programme, is there a reason you were looking at Apprenticeship opportunities instead?

Hi Kate, thanks for responding! The reason I am interested in an apprenticeship level is due to the lack of experience I have in the world of assurance/finance. An apprenticeship level can give me the education that I need from a beginner level (sort of).
If I did apply towards an apprenticeship level, would my degree hinder my chance of securing a role at this level?

Hi Mehdi - we don't look for or require relevant work experience to join our Assurance Graduate Programmes. A lot of our Assurance Graduates come from non-Finance or Business related degrees, so you certainly wouldn't be in a unique situation! Technically you can still apply for an Apprenticeship, but, as I mentioned, if you have a degree we would still suggest that you apply to the Graduate Programme.
